Arizona Chickens

Okay, the boys have to go this week, preferably tomorrow! The woman who said she wanted them has not responded to my emails (although she said she'd be busy until this week.) If I don't hear from her today, my two French Blue Copper Marans cockerels are available if you're interested in breeding. They are not for food! Several people expressed interest on the Arizona Backyard Chickens FB page but I'm offering them first to someone here so I can hopefully hear about their progress.

They are ten weeks old and are already crowing like a kids kazoo, starting at about 6:30 am.

You can take one or both, for whatever you think is fair. Just let me know quickly or I will have to list them on the FB page.

Just heard a story about desertmarcy and her farm on NPR!!! It should be repeating in a few minutes.

Hi all, my turkey show aired last night and I think it was good. If you were not able to watch, you can see it online here:
https://www.azpm.org/s/16626-az-illustrated-nature-monday-november-18-2013/
My segment starts at minute 18:32 and runs almost 5 minutes but the whole show is rather interesting, talking about heirloam plants. They did not put my website on, though, like they said they would, so I have no idea how people would contact me unless they think to look up my name in the phone book.

Desertmarcy, congrats on the show! You look great, sound great, your turkeys are gorgeous and look wonderful in the video! I don't even see the website listed on their website. I wonder if that, at least, can be changed? For those of us that ordered T-day turkeys, when will we be able to pick them up?

We should email them and ask how to contact her so they put it up. I don't think the story on NPR this morning mentioned how to contact her either.

I did get a call this morning from someone wanting a turkey after listening on NPR. I asked her if they listed my phone # and she said no, she goggled me and found the Arizona Daily Star article about my chickens which did list my phone #. Why does no one use the phone book anymore? I have never been unlisted. I'm easy to find

I'm in the middle of watching the video, and just got to your story. But about the phone book... We don't even get one delivered to our house anymore. That stopped four or five years ago. I think it's a complete waste of money to print them anyway, so no complaints there. I mean, like she did, a quick search online will give me far more results than the phone book would.

My chickies don't like bananas either! Although I've smashed them and mixed it with flax seed and BOSS and they will eat it then!

We get a phone book, but we also get our info online. I hate that we still get the phone book, what a waste of paper!

Sounds like the coop tour was fun :)

Ladykotadora - what flour mill works with mesquite? I've tried a few but the beans are too hard. I know a group here will do them for you but I would love to find an affordable mill that works!
