I know, I saw Tofuranch post awhile ago and laughed about how similar our names are. I didn't realize she was in AZ!

Here I am to confuse you all....

We are on opposite ends of the state...I live in the NORTH ---small tofu lives in the south

I probably should get my name changed to my hatchery name though..but I am kind of stuck on tofuranch

I don't think you are the only one having this problem. It has happened to me recently, Mahonri, and one other person I can recall that has mentioned this in the past couple of weeks. I don't have an answer, but maybe BYC has had a recent glitch.

I do try to remember to click the link in my most recent email notification as it says, "There may be more new replies, but this is the only notification you will receive until you visit the board again."

I haven't had this problem with other threads, though, even if I don't click the link from my email.

I have had this a couple time and it seems like if I visit the thread the emails start back up.

Heelers&Chickens_OhMy :

Sigh. I no longer have 5 chickens, I have 1 :-(

We just lost one to a dog too, I'm sorry.

I think that gets me caught up. And to make it a chicken post here is a pic of the girls new feeder and water courtesy of the bakery girls (I have a doughnut problem). I'm hoping that I have less poop in this waterer and that the feed will flow out OK and that it's not too high. I also added a 2x4 across the open ing of the coop because they always see to hang out the and I thought it would be more comfy.

Sorry for such a long post.

joel-I really, really like the lady in curlers. But the whole sleeve is pretty neat!

the DH took the 4-year-old to see Iron Man 2---i made him promise to leave if it was too "adult". SO--I am home with the toddler--who is chasing the dogs around the house with a broom. I should probably correct that....earlier he had a wrench. Where do they find these things?

I used the same buckets for my feeder and waterer. Our feeders are similar, but I have a semi-automatic nipple waterer.

Both of them work great and save me a lot of time!

I have a similar waterer and like it. Becky, yours seems to have an extra connector between the nipple section and bucket. Is that so you can detach it. Will you tell me about it?

ETA: Joel - here are some instructions on the waterer if you are interested: https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=2636-chicken-nipples-anyone

That was my husband's addition. He got it at Home Depot by the pvc stuff. I'm not sure what they call it, but it allows us to take the bucket off to clean it without taking out the whole thing. It was the most expensive part of the waterer (about $3

) We're actually going to raise the bucket and nipples about 5" higher today. The chickens have grown and they need it a little higher, I think. They have to duck a little to use it right now and I think they are actually supposed to reach up for it.

I need to post an updated picture of the coop. It's completely covered now and the nest boxes are in. I'll do that soon. Probably after we adjust the waterer.

Thanks. Some day I get it finished, I'm guessing I have another 6 hours to go but it has taken a back seat to kids and stuff.

With Gwyneth as a redhead in it I would be hoping for a little too "adult"

I'm thinking I want to run water to it but were also looking to move so...
