Arizona Chickens

The emergency appointment that I saw today is working for the census.

She said, "There are a bunch of crazies out there"... I said, "How's that?"

She says, "Can you believe that some of them put "Human" for their race?"

I say, as a matter of fact, I started that movement, on ANY form when it asks for race, I mark "Other" and write in Human.

We then had a lively discussion about how those types of questions in reality "divide" rather than 'unite'.

She did a lot of back tracking...

I smiled.

I've seen people put "American" but I like "Human" even more!

Joel,
Im sorry to hear about Vicky! :'C She's in clucky heaven now.

Mahonri,
Jeez jeez! I hope you feel better. That doesn't sound nice at all.

I have contacted Natures Hatchery three times (twice via email and once via phone) and I haven't received a call back or email. Sort of disappointing and considering not placing an order with them now.
I mean how can I place an order if they won't get back to me? Bah!

The rabbit I'm still holding onto is starting to get bigger. Each day it's more apparent that she is a meat rabbit. Good thing she is still cute though. I talked to my dad about finding her a home with other rabbits and he really surprised me. "You mean your not going to keep her? But she likes you! :C"

Hey Arizonians!! I come across a rescue the other day and she is swarmed with ducks, geese, chickens, & turkeys! We just got three geese from them for 10 dollars each. If anyone is interested just let me know! They are beautiful birds! I posted a pic of our 3 ganders we just got under geese! Currently she has over 100 geese, and 87 ducks, and yesterday they picked up a mama duck with like 12 babies and a turkey someone left on an old lady's porch in a box! She does not let them go to homes for breeding, or eating though!!

She's listed on craiglist under farm and garden but to find her you need to do a search for goose.

For 10 years I've been bone on bone between L3-L4 & L4-L5. If I move just the wrong way, I'm in pain.

Seems like eventually I always get better, but it's no fun until the pain subsides.

Wish I could figure out why the hens have almost stopped laying. Must be the heat.

Mahonri,
My uncle is going for surgery on his back soon. Once a year his back goes out for a while. Each year it gets worse and worse. This year he can't move at all so his doctor decided it was enough to put him to surgery. He's not the type to lay around because he's in pain. He hates not being able to move around and would rather not talk about a required hospital stay afterwards. Seeing him like that always makes me really sad! I wish i could let him borrow my spine. Haha!

RRR... I've yet to meet anyone who has had back surgery that was better off after. It's why I won't do it. I hear about folks that have had disc replacement surgery, but they still end up in pain.

Only got 4 eggs today.

I used to work for a chiropractor back in Ohio, and we always had back surgery patients coming. They were still in pain and looking for any kind of relief they could get.

And if you find a way to get your girls laying again, let me know, will ya? Maybe it will work for mine.

Hey peeps - I need help. I was out watching the birds and thought I'd check on some of the younger birds "birthing hips" as I like to call them... I noticed teeny tiny bugs just below her vent - they're brownish and there are even smaller white balls... is that the mites that I've heard about? It's super icky... what can I do? I think I've read that someone uses Sevin? Advice please?
