Arizona Chickens

I am at work, just over the county line in Pinal County. We are getting a pretty good dust storm right now, but no rain yet.

Hopefully you got some. It looked pretty widespread on the radar.

Our poor rescue rooster got freaked out by the downpour and ran out into it from his coop. I had to go out and catch him into a towl to dry him off. We both got drenched! Lol!..

I wrapped him in the towl and held him close to me for a while and he just laid his head on my shoulder and made little noises. Poor guy.

He's back in the coop and resting in the pine shavings right now. He didn't even want to get on the roost. This is his first serious thunderstorm and he just got scared I guess.

My girls have started laying! Exciting! I found the first one by chance while cleaning the coop. It seems a little early in terms of their age, not to mention that it is so hot out. I'm not 100% sure which one of the three are laying yet but I'll figure it out soon. Here are the past three days eggs compared to a store bought egg. .
How eggciting!!! Great comparison.. However, there is no comparison to taste & better for you.. So glad you joined in.. :welcome What breeds do you have?
