If I can find it I think I'll be able to attended ^_^@a little chiken @DesertChickens1 @anybody else that is interested:
The actual meeting is at 2:00 PM on Sunday the 27th at the Ewer Ranch. Potluck starts at 1:00 PM, bring a dish. Pretty informal, I try to stick to finger foods. There is also a raffle that I missed out on at the last meeting, bring some small poultry item to raffle off, it raises money for the club.
HOW TO GET THERE: From the north county; I take the freeway south, then take I-19 south, and get off at the Valencia exit. Turn right on Valencia until you get to Cardinal, turn right again, go north to Bilby, where you turn left. Go west about 1 mile to Sorrel Lane, turn left again. This is a dirt road, stay on it for about 200 yards. Look for the small sign that says Ewer Ranch #6262 on the right (west) side of the road. Go all the way to the back where you see the house with the porch facing you.
Meetings are usually the 4th Sunday of the month, potluck at 1:00 PM and the actual meeting at 2:00 PM, the meeting lasts for about an hour.
I had a black bantam frizzle go the same way. Took us over a week to find her. At the moment we are missing a Peking duck with a little top hat/afro. Her name is flop and she has been missing for about 3 weeks now. I'm almost certain a predator got to her, I'm just confused over the lack of feathers anywhere! It's like she just vanished out if thin air....
I had coyotes attacks on a broody coop that, twice, I failed to make iron-tight. Both times the coop was full of juvenile birds, and both times after the attack...not a friggin thing left. No feathers, no blood. The first time, outside of my yard, I managed to find a couple of piles of white feathers. After the second attack, I didn't find anything anywhere.
I do hope you find Flop alive, or at least get some closure.
maybe we can meet and follow me in? I live over here near them. Let me know.If I can find it I think I'll be able to attended ^_^
wow sounds like fun. I LOVE those kinds of evenings. My favorite as well. friends, family (animals and feathered fowl included) food and relaxation.Yesterday afternoon was fun going threw the seed box with @Sill
I have only gone threw it in parts, with others.. She organized it so wonderfully..![]()
It seems when others have added they just toss the seeds in, which is what I did after the 4th of July party.. She added some really fun stuff!! My favorite is the Lotus pond plant.. We picked four of them to file..
She had her metal nail file, I broke out the trusty handy dandy knife.. She got threw it before I did.. Ugh,so I gave her a prize...![]()

We made Thai tea and hung outside while the chickens & ducks waddled in the water.. We also went threw my garden & she left with lots of goodies.. I was telling my neighbor, that joined us, I would rather be home with family, friends & our animals on a Friday night then out & about.. Oh,
wait we did have a bottle of Italian wine.. Then we made shrimp with jasmine rice.. What a great afternoon & evening we had.. Thank you sill for the Lotus seeds.. Praying they all come up after all that filing....
