Yes I think a most of what our chickens can get comes from the wild birds.

This is a duck egg.. Our girls are not laying yet, but the eggs are bigger.. The ducks don't get sick, lice/mites.. Well, I know it sounds to good to be true.. They lay just as many eggs as chickens..

Oh &!!! Cheryl our silkie is BROODY again...

4th time this year.. Unbelievable .. We put a few of our eggs under her.. But also, 3 isbar or isbar Swedish flower mix, 3 wheaten & 3 Golden cuckoo..
Praying for a good hatch...

Duck eggs are the "secret" to why French pastries, cakes and other baked goods are so incredible. The duck eggs impart a wonderful texture and flavor to the foods they are added to. @CityFarm you are making me want ducks again. I had five muscovy ducks once a long time ago. They were fun but we ate them before they could lay.

Funny eggs. Look at the white egg, second from the right side. Got this crested Polish that lays these looong skinny eggs. (or, since this pic is on my non-cooperating cell phone, second white egg from the bottom!)

I call those long pointy eggs torpedo eggs. I have a Marans mix that lays them.

Check out the beautiful egg colors.. Praying for a good hatch.. I tried to get Cheryl off the nest, with no luck..

Yes, the isbar or isbar Swedish Flower mix are the 2 green ones.. The blue eggs are the Wheaten Ameraucana & the 2 Marans are a nice chocolate color..

I just looked up the Swedish flowers. They are adorable! Mewants a green-egg laying hen!

Bought all my chicks from Cal-Ranch and she is a Buff Orpington and good sized.

Did you check your laundry basket and in the garage? Maybe she laid in the U-haul to make sure the egg didn't get left behind tomorrow!

Oh MY! I eat a lot of strange foods, some an acquired tast. By dear brother is pulling one on me... To make it worst, in this part of the country it is not a strange food. We are having it to marrow night! Ludefisk

You would be surprised where they will lay their eggs. Put some fake eggs or golf balls in their nesting area?.

Does anyone have a incubator. Just in case we need one.. Ugh, I might have completely messed up the eggs from my friend..no, I did not wait 24hours...

I even have a Styrofoam one you could borrow if you could get it.
