Arizona Chickens

I know a lot of you are gardeners. This is so sad, I can't believe the powers that be want to take this away from people that just want to grow some food. Anyone want to come see this with me?

The 14-acre community garden at 41st and Alameda in South Central LA is the largest of its kind in the US. Started as a form of healing after the devastating LA riots in 1992, the South Central Farmers are creating a miracle in one of the country’s most blighted neighborhoods: growing their own food, feeding their families, and creating a community. But now, bulldozers are poised to level their 14-acre oasis. The Garden follows the plight of the farmers, from the tilled soil of this urban farm to the polished marble of City Hall, as they speak out, organize, and demand answers. View trailer here. Free parking is available at the Brickyard Parking Garage. Bring your ticket and the theater will validate.

Yes maybe. .

@City farm I told DH you need some fish, I told him to just stop off on his way back from the office and dump some in the duck trough. So if you see a county man in a camo cap in your yard, don't set the dogs on him. HAHAHAHAH

Okay.. the trough is close to the sidewalk durring construction.. i will leave a big vase on the patio.. he can put them in there.. the trough is full of so much debris i need to change out the water. Then i can add them in.. the water hyacinth is starting to grow back. . That will keep the water clear.. thank you so much. No hurry only if he is over in this part of town. .

Okie dokie, I will tell him. He goes past your house every day on his way to and from the office.
I saw people selling mosquito fish on craigslist for a dollar each. So Sad People Are getting Snowed AND Don't Know the county will give them out for free.

Remember the Pima County Fair Open Poultry Show is today 4/17 through this weekend at the Fairgrounds. Come on down and look at some great birds! I cooped in 11 chickens and 1 turkey last night. Judging is this afternoon. Birds will be there until around 5-6 pm Sunday, but they might let some of the out of towners leave early, so if you want to see everything, come early.

I was wondering how old chicks have to be to tell what breed they are. I have 7 random chicks sent to me by mistake and the breeder said they don't know either because they have over 60 pens and this was a random box of eggs they sent me to hatch.

Is there any way that we (the observers) can identify which birds are yours? My husband, son and I are attending tomorrow and I'd love to see your birds in person, and maybe even meet you if possible and the planets and starts align properly.

There is an exhibitor list on the table across from all the cages. I am #12. They are listed 15-12 for example. 15 is for 2015. I am going down this afternoon and again on Sunday to pick up the birds, but I'm not going Saturday. It is just too far, 80 mile round trip for me, to go every day and no point in it.

I am building a website and need to find some photos of adult size chickens in the breeds I am going to raise from chicks. Anyone have any ideas of where I can get some photos without spending a lot of money to get them

Is this going to be a personal website for your own birds? If so, the birds pictured should be yours or at least clearly stated that they are not yours. Just my opinion. People visiting a website want and expect to see photos of that person's birds, not something gleaned from the internet.
