Arizona Chickens

I am in kingman and would like to get one for them

I am sorry, I don't have time to ship a box. If you were in Tucson, you could pick one up. I could not ship it in time for your needs. You can order them from Cutler Supply. That company recently had them on ebay for less but I think it was for 20 boxes.

WOW THATS TOUGH, I would call E BAY right away....!!!!! and explane you got the wrong eggs, for $100.00 and golly they can really help in this matter..? because if your order was not as described ,you will usually get to keep the wrong stuff and also get your money back, becasue its all the sellers fault....! so do that now....! right away , I shop on e bay like 20 times a month or more , they will work with you no problem , take care have a good one

For those of you interested in using fly predators. I released my second shippment this morning. You have to wait until you see some begin emerging from the parasitized fly pupae in the packaging. It takes a few days before you see them emerge. They look like very tiny winged ants.

I put them in bowls and saucers filled with shavings placed near manure sources and unfinished compost. I cover these with baskets or loose shade cloth to keep wild birds, lizards, geckos and chickens from eating the pupae before the fly predators have a chance to hatch out and leave. You can see several have crawled to the surface of the shavings.

This is why moringa trees are so drought tolerant. They have roots that store water and probably starch. I had planted these in small pots the end of last summer, then forgot about them in a shed where I "overwintered" them.

I can't remember when I last watered them, but you can see one of them valiantly trying to grow a new stem where the old one is dried up. These two should survive fine once planted and watered. @CityFarm do you want me to drop these by your house? I don't know if your potted tree survived.

And here is my biggest moringa tree, It had a big chop in November (so it could be easily covered during frosts) and this was the new growth in February.

This is it today already starting to get a few flower buds among plentiful foliage.

These trees love heat and grow super fast once it warms up. I'm hoping this year it will give some seeds for the seed box.

Probably a long shot and I will end up eating them but I have a bunch of roos available... I am going to process everyone on the 9th or 10th. here is what I have:

gold laced wyandotte 10 bucks

buff orpington mom / blue orpington dad 5 bucks each

buff orpington dad / white americana mom (olive egger) 5 bucks

white polish 10 bucks, I have hens for this guy too, if anyone wants a breeding pair.

there are more, but these are just the troublemakers and loud mouths that have to go NOW. wheeee

What happens if you cross a GLW with a SLW?

@Sill @moms3cuties ... did somebody say goat + East Valley?? I'm in the East Valley, I want a goooaaaattt!!! :D And now, in serious chicken news: the silence in my coop didn't last...I'm pretty sure I've got more boys ... sigh. I know it's a long shot, but I gotta try ... anybody want a Cuckoo Marans and/or a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte rooster? I confess I've never processed a chicken for eating ... if I have to cull more I might have to learn just so it doesn't feel like such a waste :( they seem so skinny when they're juveniles, though ... is there really enough meat to make it worth the effort?? Advise me, o wise ones of the message board!! :bow
I thought we all agreed to not mention livestock on here ?? :highfive: boy, OH, boy.. If they would only lay egg's.. RIGHT!! Do ya all remember when we talked about doing a commune/fowl/livestock with a few of us!! :lau

@Sill oh yeah I agree..
On another note, look what is still ALIVE!! OH, KAY... :th

After just water with Root's, & just dirt, & root's with water THEN root hormone..Which none of these attempts were successful... I cut off the dead part and going to try just root hormone!!! If nothing else we are heading back to Tucson!! I love this plant, the smell and the use of it! It is probably going to do best in just water.. So if this does not work, I will cut off what is left & attempt to do just water.. It was a bit awkward in a glass jar.. I had to prop it up, & harvesting it almost fell down... Anyho.. Hope to have some to share someday.. Or a trip to see @Gallo del Cielo
Unless someone else has some of this Cuban oregano??

Hay, does anyone know where the seed box is??

What climbing vine can I grow for shade on the west side of my coop?

I personally like climbing rose's.. Our flock will eat the flower's.. I pick them right before they are ready to die off.. Plus they can handle the heat..
Grape vine, or something that is edible for your flock..hibiscus might work as well??
