It's putting my construction skills to the test. I think moving 4x8 sheets of plywood and piles of 2x4s alone is hard enough for a big strong man. Doing it as a lone and not-quite-so-burly woman is even more challenging.

I can identify with the construction aspect of it all. I tend to spend many hours on drawing/sketching ideas, doing many revisions. Then, before I get cold feet, I buy a bunch of lumber, throw it out in the backyard and have at it...LOL! Touch-And-Go all the way, adapting as I go. My idea started off with a single 4x4 post and branched out like spokes of a wheel. All the inner 2x6 base boards are for structural support only and will disappear when I go the deep litter route.

Enough about my run improvisations, but really like to know how many vines would you plant along one wall to get a decent coverage to eventually creep over the top of the run for partial coverage? --BB

Update on the Ayam Cemani eggs, I did finally receive 6 eggs, even though the seller has been suspended by eBay. They have been in transit since last Wednesday, so I don't have high hopes. I have them settling right now, and will set them tonight, along with an assortment of Jersey Giant, Cochin, and Ameraucana eggs. Wish me luck!

I just joined a FB group, Good Egg Bad Egg where people can post reviews on sellers of chicks and hatching eggs. There were reviews of the ebay seller of these, got to be the same person. Multiple problems. Everybody said, if you get eggs from this person, guaranteed they will NOT be Ayam Cemani. So while I wish you luck, chances are slim to nil you will get what you want. Sorry.

Thought I'd post a pic or two of my new chicks that just showed up this morning from Pennsylvania! Buff Ameraucanas, Blue-Black-Splash Ameraucanas, and Rhode Island Red. Looking to improve my bloodlines on the last two, the Buff Ameraucanas are new for me.

I'll actually be somewhat happy if they even hatch. 5 of them were XL medium brown eggs, and one was almost white. See what I get in about 3 weeks (if anything).
The weird thing with ebay is that if nothing hatches, tough luck. If they are definitely not Ayam Cemani, I can likely get my money back.

BTW, @desertmarcy , those buff AM's look pretty cute! Do they have slate legs? Their legs look yellow in the pic.

I bought the eggs from two different sellers on ebay both fake and ebay made them both give me my money back
