Arizona Chickens

:lau

The dorking's are beautiful, the hen's resemble E.E., biefelder, welsumer

They are very pretty...but so nervous! I've never experienced such nervous chicks before! So far though I'm really impressed with their growth rates, feathering out rates, and heat tolerance.

Oh that's a bummer.. I do like the heat tolerance as a trait .. Our biefielder is a big girl & for some reason I have a feeling she is going to suffer during the heat.. She is a prolific layer and dual purpose bird.. what a sweet disposition this breed has.. Our French Bresse is a prolific layer as well.. Her comb is a pale pink & she is still giving us a surprise, daily..

That is one of my favorite sentence's!!!! :weee
Anything wth the word, free, plant, chicken or take you out for a meal. IS a favorite sentence!!
We just gave away our tractor.. This is where we house our new incoming chicken's... Need to think about it, along with making the trip..
& always wanting Salmon Faverolle.. Ugh, decisions, decisions..
However, we really want to come & check out @MaddBaggins place..

Let me know!

Yes I will.. How old are they? I think I have a plan to quarantine them.. Have you held them, meaning are they skittish ? I know they are sweet & docile breed, just thought I would ask.. Will you post up photo's?? Side view, please..

Ugh, I just came in and showered after stacking my last feed order of 100 bags. That's 5000 pounds picked up and moved and stacked inside by me! The pallets were sitting outside for 2 days and I finally mustered the energy to do it. I can't do it during the day, too hot, too much sun, too many flies waiting to get inside. So after dark it was. This "hobby", which has become a full time job, has certainly gotten out of hand here! I also took all the chicks out of the hatcher. Every one of them hatched. They were due yesterday and I hadn't even looked to see what hatched, just a quick glance yesterday to see, yes..there are some out. That's how nut-sy it is for me right now!
Time for some ICE CREAM and home grown PEACHES!

Super woman.. :weee

They are a little skittish because I have to reach down into the baby pen, so of course, I'm the Death Hand from above. I'd like to put it up on legs. They warm up very quickly to mealworms. And watermelon.

Can you have Roos? I'm not sure why these two or three are smaller than the rest. I did have a respiratory thing going on, but I gave them antibiotics. Their first feathers are a little wonky, but hopefully the next set will be good. I would quarantine them. They may need some time away from the bigger juvies, maybe too?

If you are willing to take in the little ones, I could throw in big *** pullet juvie. Or if this set of eggs I have coming in are successful, give you a couple chicks from there.

I also have a giveaway straight run bantam black Wyandotte about six weeks. And a hatchery SLW.

I have a couple lovely SOP bantam black Wyandottes for sale $20.

I didn't want to bother them in the heat of the day ... I will try tonight. They are about seven weeks old. I have held them, but as I mentioned, I'm a bit the death hand from above. They do warm up quickly.

I've already told you about Queenie our more than cheeky leghorn. Here's another....... This is the second egg she has laid on hubby's power chair. She loves to come into our back porch area. This time he noticed she was scratching the chair so he went and got her a tshirt. Scratched it into a suitable shape in no time. Then in minutes she laid her egg. Last time the chair was in his shop with a tshirt already on it. Then she invited company in to see her egg singing her egg song. You can tell she's already hot. It has already hit 106 here today.

Never a dull moment here at Featherpugs.
