Arizona Chickens

I have lumpy breasts ... sorry if that's TMI. I had a really painful inflammed lump, so they sent me for a mammogram. It was a benign cyst, albeit a huge one. My mom used to work for a free-standing radiology practice. She said that the vast majority of "scares" turned out to be just that. They do sorta scare you. Hugs and fingers crossed.
Ty I have a bunch of people praying for me on my FB pages. I hope that is all it is too

Sorry to hear that. Chances are it's just a benign cyst but best to get it checked out. Try not to fret too much over it right now, I know that is easy to say. I always fret over stuff.
LOL I am the fret queen. At least I will weigh less by the time I get passed this. Not my favorite way to diet to nervous to eat much. But, I am making an effort so I don't get run down. I will post photos of my newest chicks later this week I am off for the next four days.

Question: I found a blob of what looked like a piece of chalk inside an egg..... in the white.... Like a pearl in an oyster. The egg was fine otherwise.

Was it calcium? or something else. If it was calcium, am I giving the chickens to much? or was it just something that happens?

Hi everyone I have been MIA for a while they found a lump on my left breast and I have to go in 17 days and counting for a mamo and sonagram to see if I need a biopsy then set a time for the biopsy. I am plenty scared right now to say the least. For now I am still working with my chickens and just recently got some Lavender Orphingtons and cream crested Legbars from the Jill Reese line. In the bator I have Lavender Marans French variety and Icebars do to hatch this week. The Marans are next week. Then I will set some Tolbunts next week.
Don't fret - you don't have enough information yet. My sis has had this a few times and they are either calcium deposits for cysts BUT you gotta follow-up on everything. You'll be in my prayers. I'm loving that you have so many fun chicks getting ready to hatch!! My girls are starting to age. I have 3 or 4 that are hitting 4 years old and they only egg occasionally now. My favorite egg layer, "Barbie Barred-Rock" passed away the other day of old age. She gave me the best medium-dark colored eggs. And she would still do it every 3 to 5 days. She was 6. So come cooler weather I'll be looking for pullets :-) Be assured of prayers...........

I went through this very thing a few months back when they detected huge lumps in both of my breast. The sonagram does a great job of showing the details. I hope that you just turn out to have cysts, just like me.

ty and sorry for your loss of your girl. I will post as mine get big enough might have something you might like

Quick update - the foster boy peacock - Ranger is still with us. He has adopted my DH old tractor. I took a couple pics when he was on the front of it and then when the light was a bit low I took another to show him on the top of the exhaust pipe with a can on it - it posted first in the upload. Anyhow he has learned to holler me for breakfast -around 5:30/6:00am! Good thing I'm an early riser. And dinner - he knows what time I usually feed - he loves really ripe bananas AND what he doesn't clean up the chickens do!
