Not just pips! We got chicks.
A few eggs quit fairly late, maybe because of the temperature spike. The second batch should start pipping tomorrow.
Congrats!

Is anyone in the Tucson area interested in in a free duck? I ended up with two drakes and I need to get rid of one. They're four month old Magpies. Cute as can be unless they're trying to rape my chickens. Please, someone take one off my hands.
Hi, I am new to this thread. I am located in Tucson, and I'm wondering if there are some breeds that will lay eggs in the hot Arizona summer and will still do well healthwise
My Marans handle the heat well, as do my Naked Necks and both have been laying steadily. desertmarcy is a member down your way that breeds Marans and might have some for sale.
Hi welcome to the thread yes Marans are good for this area. I have some blue copper babies about 3 weeks old if you are interested. I am in Kingman and have Marans, Barred Rocks, Isbars, Legbars, Orphingtons, Welsummers, and a few other breeds they all seem to do good. Just provide enough shade and water. Mine like a swallow tin pan to walk in when their feet are hot. Its their wadding pool.Good to know. I have a couple marans, but they haven't started laying for me yet.
