Arizona Chickens

What a great find!! I love going to thrift stores for reasons just like this.

Thrift stores are like giant garage sales. You never know what you will find, and sometimes it's just junk. But them other times you find something that you love, and it's fun just browsing.

I am currently reupholstering a wing back chair that I garbage picked from the side of the road years ago when I lived in NY. It was in great condition just ugly fabric that I threw a cover over. I will post pix of the before and after when I finally get it completed. Haven't ever done upholstery before, should be fun

Fixing old furniture is fun and not so hard if you are handy, guess that your are since taking on the challenge. The results of my furniture renewal projects are not professional but then I like fun funky. Have fun and post pics ?

We really love our duck's.. They are heathier than chicken's, they lay just as many egg's, they eat mice.. Which we don't have & we reuse their water for our plants..oh & they chase after cockroach's & eat them.. Plus, I love having a water feature. here is a better photo of Kay, her eye color is stunning. Rick had to get in on the action

Are they affectionate? I'm a sucker for feathered snugglers.

Eventually I'd love to have ducks and/or Muscovies, and maybe even some turkeys around here. I'm having to slow my impulses in acquiring more birds though as my ambitions and my energy levels + free time for building projects don't quite match up. I'm culling all of my Dorking-ish males and my Silkie cockerels this weekend in an effort to regain some degree of control over my flocks and cut down on the stress.

Our 2 silver Swedish are affectionate, they follow me around. We raised them from a week old. The Muscovy's not so much. They came in later. I did forget to mention that the taste of duck eggs are exquisite..:frow
