CORNISH X GROWING LIKE WEEDS!

Here is a pic from last Wednesday, when they arrived....

And here is a pic from this morning, 6 days later....

. Man those suckers grow fast. I've still never seen them in person. We're parked here in Prescott Valley now and the neighbors have some strange sounding birds. It's rhythmic like an egg song but a strange tone. Do they happen to make a funny sound during laying?

I've got a couple of Black Ameraucana hens and at least one Blue Ameraucana hen I'm selling. They are about a year old, lay nice blue eggs. I'm in NW Tucson.

I know you can get crested cream legbar eggs in Phoenix. I've got a dozen from a craigslist seller located in NW Phoenix area (Wickenburg, I think)

SWIMMING POOL BROODER

I usually just use a large cardboard box to brood chicks, but after taking some pics yesterday of some 1 week old Cornish X, it hit home how fast they were outgrowing my normal box brooder. After a trip to the local Dollar store, and some creative cardboard and tape work, I ended up with this....

This is 5 foot diameter plastic pool ($20), with 36 inch cardboard walls. With the exception of the pool, everything else is shed scrounge.

No not me. I don't have any chickens right now sadly. I was just offering if someone needed eggs that were in Wickenburg I could stop and get them and hand them off to their new owner. If they lived East Valley or something that would be quite a drive.
