I hose my pen down 2x a day, my chicks love to scratch in the little mud puddles, I water the grass I planted for them at that time, so I do two jobs at once. I am planning on putting up the mist system all along the front of the run, I may or not put a timer on it. I will have to wait and see.
My Silkie feather footed Bantam "Peep" turned out to be a Roo! He has been trying to crow for about 2 weeks, he sounds like a teenage boys voice changing. He sure makes me laugh. I have 4 RI Reds, ! Big Red, I think is also a Roo! so 3 for sure are hens. Last but not forgotten is Chicklett and Cleo, they are both Americanas, Now there is also Willy, who is Peep's father. All in all I have 8 in my BYF. Big Red looks more and more like a roo, however he has never tried to crow. I wonder what is up with that??
