Arizona Chickens

How's everyones desert chickens doing? It's been so hot I have a great system that's working but nightime when they go to bed they get really hot again and it's dark, they aren't sleeping at 9 pm yet but in the coop I relieved their stress at 9 pm last night with a flashlight and ice chips which most of them gobbled up and looked relieved

I'm thinking of having them sleep in the mansion instead so I can cool the area down by air conditioning before bed and they won't be so hot

So far so good here. We have been freezing waterers and putting those out before work. They prefer the hose to run in the evenings in the grass to a kiddie pool. We keep an area damp and put some shade over it and everyone hangs out there in the late afternoon. Treats are frozen fruit/veg.
I feel terrible for em out there regardless.
Good luck to everyone!

Got up this morning and noticed my Silver Polish was missing. Found her in under the bougainvillea, stiff as a board.

RIP Elvis :(

For those of you using timers on your misters, what kind of timers are you using? I want a manual timer because I only use the mist system when it is both hot and dry, and I make the mist/no mist decision on a daily basis. (Learned from experience that misting after the humidity kicks up creates more problems than it solves.)

The manual timers I've found only go up to two hours. I need 4-6 hours in this weather. My neighbor has been nice about shutting the misters off for me when I'm working late, but an automatic shutoff would be much better. I need a timer that fits on a regular hose bibb. Any suggestions?
