Arizona Chickens

I found a green egg in the drink puddle today

Had to cool bathe callie bc she was broody and gasping in the heat bc of it I'm not her favorite right now:idunno lol

Yeah, I'm back up to 3 broodies right now, and they all curse me regularly in chicken cluck because I pull them out of their nesting boxes and relocate them, then sometimes close off their preferred boxes to force them to cool down. I've tried the cool bathes, but so far that hasn't been enough to break the broodiness. I'm considering giving them aspirin.

My one broody right now I've been taking her out of the box and putting her in one of the water pans they like to stand in. This morning I put ice in the pans because the overnight temp was so high so water was warm - anyhow she was a bit shocked!! I just keep doing it. She just keeps getting back into a nest - any nest will do for her -AND if it has an egg in it she is quite happy. Crazy girl.

I lost both blue girls. One in the nest box and one under the picnic table in the mud puddle.

Oh no so this happened at separate times today? ((((())))) that's so rough hugs

Wow crazy how this sets in at the hottest days possible I broke Callie's broodiness with the bath but probably bc she was suffering from the heat so. Rambita is only 5 months old but boy is she determined she's so broody that even after I close off the boxes she walks around with the broody growl and ruffled feathers and runs away from me lol

Sounds a lot like Rambita, guess with 24 girls I should be thankful there's only one really broody

They must think we have nothing better to do than run them out of the nest lol

@SonoranChick How are things? Any broodies and how did the foot soaks go?
