Arizona Chickens

Its 10 52 pm and thundering, lightning and raining and.... where are my stubborn ee's?.. outside the coop on top of the doors of the coop :he I shined the flashlight from the porch to see if they want to jump insidevreally quick, they just blinked at me ... oops there went the electricity.. ok back on right away (good this is a tablet lol ) so they just blinked at me with lightning flashing around me I decided I love them but not enough to become a statistic of people out where they shouldn't be during a storm

So maybe the lightning will give them light enough to jump in or nature will bathe them and they will feel soft in the morning

It just barely sprinkled here. I only seen a few small drops on the glass of the sliding glass door. I guess that your ee's are doing a good job of keeping you on your toes.

That's good statistics i used to think i'd want to hatch my own, I once thought incubating was easy until I read about what others go through good luck

Well, I had started with 16, but the first time that I candled just a few days in, one of them had a bloodring in it, so I tossed it. I guess that I have incubated so much, that I have it down pat now. Another thing that helps is that my eggs are from my own flock and not shipped ones.

I’m down to two eggs. I guess Emma ran out of rooster juice while I was gone and the last couple she laid weren’t fertile. Good news is I think I found a home for my roo. One of my daughters friends wants him.

I guess that you will have to help Emma find more rooster juice, then! :lau

Good morning!
It has rained off and on all night here and sprinkles are still falling. I now have 4 or 5 hens laying, silly reds lay all day I mean really its 112 at mid day and I hear one announce that shes laid. I'm scared of what my water bill will be as we have kept the run and shade area soaked all day for all of these really hot days. On a different topic has any one here had an issue with strep and chickens? I have caught strep 3 times in 5 months. Its getting really annoying. Doctor says there is likely a carrier in the house and to test everyone including the pets.
