Arizona Chickens

Oooh, good to know. I have an Ace really close to me - do they all sell chicken feed, or just some of them? I went to the Country Feed Store. I called them and they said they could either refund me, or open bags with me to find one sans bugs.
Not all locations sell it, I would call your local one beforehand to check. I go to the one off cortaro and I-10. I do know the location in oro valley doesn't have it, so I think it's just a toss up.

Thank you for the offer :D I noticed today she has been out in the run more, so maybe she decided against going broody again. I will keep an eye on her over the next week and see what happens. I appreciate your offer and know those splash australorps are gorgeous birds.

Just thought that I would offer her in exchange for yours. I know how rare and hard to get that these Splash one's are to get.

@cactusrota Didn't you say that the 3 Breese pullets that I hatched on April 5th from your hatching eggs should start laying in September? Should I start looking for some little pullet eggs? :gig
They should! Mine always seem to start at around 5 to 5 and a half months old. You'll start seeing their combs getting fuller and redder about a couple weeks before hand probably. I've got a couple pullets hatched the last week of April that'll be about 3 weeks behind yours.. :)

Yes, I have started to to see the combs on those girls getting fuller and deepening towards red in color, and they stand near the nesting box watching the hen's laying their eggs. I'll keep watching for when I will start getting little pullet eggs again. These girls are the next one's in line to start earning their keep with eggs. :gig

I actually processed my breeding roosters and am raising new cockerels right now, so won't have any available until next Spring. So I put that blue splash NN rooster, the one I had offered to you before the leakage showed up, in with my Bresse hens for some crosses. I'm hoping to set those eggs next week.
Just have a question about the claim of great taste of these chickens.
Was the flavor exceptional to you, or very similar to other chickens. :idunno

BTW I would not get these to eat, just to have an unusual breed chicken pet. I also would like a Ayam cemani, Wicked looking NN, and a Red Jungle fowl hen. (had one over 10 years ago, and cant locate one since)

Here is one article, among others that I read about this breed.

I admire your desire to have some rare and unusual chickens. My husband and I always say if we didn't have dogs we would just have a flock of those big, tall Malays to guard the property. I swear I have seen some pictures that look like the males are as tall as me

If you had a big flock of chickens as tall as you are, you would probably have to build a huge coop as big as your yard is for them to go roost at night! :th

Seriously look how big these guys can get. I don't even know how you would contain them!

I want Brahmas. Have you seen the videos of those really massive Brahmas? I would LOVE that...but I'd settle for an American standard sized Brahma. I like big birds and I cannot lie...
