Arizona Chickens

The eggs from the Bresse hens under the blue splash NN roo are due to hatch the beginning of next week. There's a total of 11 of them, along with 11 from the JG and Marans under Remmy, and 7 random ones from the main flock. Looking forward to see what I get...

Cool! I have some in my incubator still that's due to hatch on the 28th. I'm still trying to get my total NN, with no bib or big bowties.

@cactusrota There was just a break in the rain, so I went out to check on eggs again. The 3 Breese pullets started laying a couple of weeks ago, and the eggs are a little bit darker shade than the NN ones are. Anyway's found a pullet egg when I went out there that is huge! I laid it in the palm of my hand and it took up the whole side width of my palm. The only problem is with the shape of it, as I can't tell what end is supposed to be the small end of it. The shell look's to be normal. I'm thinking that it could be a double yolker, although I haven't cracked it open yet!

I have a couple NN's that I get those from. It's like they're trying to lay one of those extra long dinosaur eggs or something. Sometimes it's a double yoker, sometimes not. Never got one from any of my Bresse though!

I was just surprised to find one like that out there. She only started laying a couple of week's ago, so I know that had to hurt coming out!

Edit: By the way, this was out pullets of those first batch of the hatching eggs that I got from you.

It's now been pouring at my house for over four hours straight. My entire chicken acreage is a lake and many of my very soggy birds are giving me the stink eye. Most of them are hanging out on the back patio right outside my bedroom though because it's got a nice been canopy over it. As soon as I open the slider to go outside a handful of birds try to come indoors. Maybe they just want to hang out on the couch with me and watch movies. ;)
