I read that story,,,, and it is full of holes. On slow news days the writers need juicy news to fill in their space. There is no shortage of FAKE NEWS and HOAXES out.
No pictures of farm, no pictures of carcass, no pictures of 6000 freerange chickens.. No location of said farm

The farm is home to up to 6,000 free-range chickens who are kept in a five-acre site.

The coop is kept open during day and most of the hens spend the daytime outside, AFP adds.

So I am supposed to believe that the fox waited until every last chicken entered the henhouse. At which time went thru the auto pop door, which closed immediately.
I am more inclined to believe,,,,,, when someone tinkles on my leg,,, it is raining.

Not yet from what I can see looking through the window on the top of the incubator, so there's still time for you to come over and help me to watch them hatch. Temp and humidity is still holding steady.

@nicollee With a story like that, it would make anyone want to buy some of the breed of chickens that farmer has. I mean after all, if that breed of chicken's can kill a fox, it should be able to kill stray dogs and such too, right?

I have a silkie egg now that is peeping at me, but it hasn't started pecking it's way out of the egg yet.

Update on peeping silkie egg: It is now out of the shell and need's to dry off. It look's like it might be a paint.

Edit: a second silkie hatched out now, and it's a black.
