Arizona Chickens

Lol. I have never cooked a prime rib before so I don't know how much it costs or anything. Have you made it before?

I did years ago, but I'm sure that prices have gone up since then. Now, since it's just the 2 of us over here I don't cook any of those bigger meals, I get my prime rib dinner for my birthday and Thanksgiving at the Black Angus Restaurant. They will be closed on Christmas though, but the Casino over here usually has something good in the line of food.

It'll just be the 2 of us but I refuse to go out. I feel like everyone should have the day off with pay.

Prime rib costs an arm and a leg!! Is it good, you betcha but my crazy body hates that type of meat. Beefy stuff needs to be ground already. Such a shame too. There is that traditional ham and trimmings. Do you do lamb? I've never cooked lamb but like it when I go to greek places. My sister's family was Italian (well at least the DH) so we'd go there for fine Italian fare - I personally loved it. Good luck thinking about it......I'm going to TX to visit my 90 year old dad who can spin circles around me! Wish me luck with the driving - I haven't done that in a while. 2 days........

At the casino's, apparently there is a demand to stay open on those holiday's. They are packed with people playing the machines, and at the card tables. The line is long to get food too. So, they probably pay the worker's extra to work on those day's.

With the lamb, you can buy some of that Greek seasoning in the spice isle at the store, and bake/roast it.

Road trip, that sounds fun! You'll do fine I'm sure. Turn up the music, roll down the windows(if it's not too cold) and let your hair down. Enjoy getting away for a bit, it'll be good for your mind and spirit Featherpugs :hugs

As for lamb, I'm not a fan but my husband likes it. I am considering a ham or maybe just a couple of decent ribeyes on the bbq. Not such a big hit to the pocket book.

They could keep the extra money, I want the day off. Ok let's be honest, I want EVERY day off :p
