Yes, I'm still here. I haven't had a heat stroke yet, although there's been day's where I thought that I was going to melt. I've been taking cold bottles of water with me when I have to go next door to take care of the neighbors animals. I'm not so sure that my neighbor will be coming home on Sat. or not. Her flight might get cancelled from that storm headed to Florida.
The dark eyed girl is the one that has been molting. I was noticing white feather's out there for a couple of day's now. Last year my flock started the molting at the end of August. I had written it down on my 2019 egg chart so that I would know.
Glad you haven't had a heatstroke! It's so hot I was sweating just sitting there on the patio. Gross.
Someone else mentioned some of their flock is molting already, maybe NFC? Seems pretty early.
Yes, I think it's a little early too, since mine didn't start doing the molting until the end of August last year.
I didn't mention it, but I've got two who are dropping occasional feathers so far, not quite a real molt but a start.
It look's like I'm going to be taking care of the animal's next door for another month. She emailed me and said that school has been pushed back another month and they don't have a babysitter for her grandson so she's going to do it.
