Does anyone know if there are any new fires since Friday? I'm not finding anything. A few nights ago we saw orange in the night sky down near the Mexico border, looked similar to when fire reflects off the clouds and since then there's been a haze in the sky and we're all sneezing with stuffy noses. I'm not sure if it would even be reported here if it's a fire on the other side of the border.

Donkeys are fearless defenders. I've spent years working with them and have watched them aggressively go after coyotes and bobcats. When a donkey goes at something with his head down and ears back, look out! He means business. Anything that can't evade those flashing hooves will meet its death.

Donkeys are underrated. They are tireless workers and excellent companions. Once they've determined you're their friend, they will defend your life with their own.

down here the smoke is heavy. part of it is smoke from the California fire and part is the two controlled burns they are doing. either way, by this time of the day it is hard to see any of the mountains around me

What are the red areas in the Chiricahuas and Little Dragoon mountains? Are those the current prescribed burns? Cochise Country might be getting smoke from those. I hope those are over soon; we plan on camping in the Chiricahuas next month!

The Alamo fire might be the one near the border.

Due to having to move to take care of family as the doctor ordered Mom move below 1000 ft, which means moving out of Arizona. I am dispersing almost all of my upcoming hatchery stock. I will be meeting up with people at the Bank parking lot on Carefree Highway Saturday morning to bring Point of Lay chickens to them. I have the following:
Speckled Sussex
Lavender Orpington
Dark Brahma non hatchery
Golden Laced Wyandotte
Heritage Rhode Island Red
Black Copper Marans
Cream Legbar - Gold Crele
Light Brahma
Rhode Island White
Whiting True Blue

There are roosters to go with these if you want talk about them

By doing this I will be bale to take the other breeds of rare chickens and my projects with me, as I can't take 300+ chickens with me. which means when I get moved I will be hatching like crazy again.

Good luck with your move and with your mom's health. I'm sorry to know that you will be leaving AZ. to do it though. Right now, I am only looking for the Bielefelder's to add to my flock. Good luck with dispersing those one's.
