Arizona Chickens

I lost two bigger quail in my outdoor holding pen. I think they got smashed trying to keep warm. Other than that (and all of the water founts being frozen solid and having to microwave them to thaw them) all was well.

Naturally, my salmon rooster died this morning. My luck. Guess it just motivates me to get some eggs sooner.

I candled today. All of the Jersey Giants are developing nicely Martin. A few were too dark to see thru but I'm sure they are progressing. I'm hoping for a nice variety of colors too. I'm very excited.

Dar, It looks like NOT all are infertile. I have 6 that are showing good development. The others I separated and will candel again in a few days. My light isn't the greatest and I don't want to miss anything.

Geese louise, more losses, I feel for you all

I attended the funeral of one of my husband's good friends today. He was.a fellow.detective and my husband's first trainee. He was only 32. He left behind 2 boys, 9 and 7. He got into a single car roll over accident and was ejected from his car. It was a very nice service. Sad, but I loved the traditional Navajo ceremonies they performed. Here is a picture of the flag outside the cemetery.
