Arizona Chickens

Oh, and thanks for nominating me for the BYC Spirit badge. I know it was my AZ peeps because I haven't been posting much on the open forum. You guys are great.

Gallo,
Our family sends it condolences. For chickens & dearest kitty..

Arizona Chicken,
Please let me know how you did it from your iPad. I tried to cut and paste a few times with photos but it never worked. However, I tried it with my phone not my iPad. Is that how you did it?

we had something similar happen in our yard, a neighborhood dog got in and killed one of our 2 hens (the babies were all inside still) my youngest found the dead hen before we could get into the gate and see. our other hen survived but was tore up pretty bad.i had never let the hens "live" in the house before but peper lived in the bath tub till her shock wore off.
How long does it take for the shock to wear off? Our neighbors dog hot out the other day. It is a small white puffy dog. they are our friends. However this reminds me that I need to let them know that I keep a bat in my yard at all times. Along with myself or one of my boys On guard. I would be upset if we had to take matters into our own hands.
Our yard is pretty well contained. The only part that's open is the driveway.
Thanks for the reminder..

Anyone have any suggestions on what the black dots on the comb & hackle could be?

Most of our eggs are fertile. At least 85%
One had two yolks. I love the bantam eggs. Two fit perfect on a piece of toast.
Could be blood or frostbite or disease. probably blood, it's quite common. not really anything to worry about. I could tell you for sure if you posted a picture
