Arizona Chickens

I went to add some more of our fading potatoes to our mealworm colony just now and realized the colony exploded like the baby boomer era. The top is covered in exoskeletons. You can see and hear the worms creeping around in there. It's pretty cool.

So far, we have been very sparing on giving the girls worms. I wanted a well started colony first. I think we've reached that point!

The splash is so friendly...loves to sit on your hand and be held.

Girls worms? How can you tell the difference?

If only everyone in America reached out like this, we would all have the help we needed by helping each other and not need to rely on the government so much. You're awesome!
X2!!!
Imagine if everyone gave only (10) TEN hours a month of their time..
Even the smallest giving.. Sewing a button in for a disabled or elderly.. It is the small guesturs that are worth a million..
Glad you were not hurt..

notinoz:  The boys are really excited, especially Thomas and Alex.  They've both wanted a little sister for a long time, and Thomas has been disappointed twice, and Alex once, so they're both really happy they are getting a sister at last.

I've had a really busy day already, I went to Market on the Move and then to the Valley Permaculture Alliance's tree pick up, to get the fruit trees (an apricot and a plum)  and the pomegranate bushes that were my husband's Christmas present.  Right now, I'm getting Michael down for a nap, while Rob is in the back yard, working on my Christmas present.  I got him the plants, and now he's giving me holes in the ground :D
Market on the moves rock!!
I keep missing them..

Yeah, isn't it insane how sick our children are? It's like my daughters are always being warned about this illness or that.

Sometimes I hate to say it because of the backlash I get, but I think a lot is the vaccinations we give. The pro-vaccine crowd treats us worse that the stuff we flush down the toilet. But as the vaccinations have increased, so has diseases. I think that when we reduced the common diseases, we open the door for worse ones to come Jandra to play.

Like this year. The flu vaccines are "well suited" to this year's strains and we are at a 25-year high in our vaccination rates. And yet this is the worst season we'Bella had in 50 years. Europe does not mass-vaccinate against the flu and they are not having our epidemic.

Things just aren't adding up.

Totally agree

Oh my gosh, welcome back cluckin crazy!

Britt.... I'll be selling some in March.

Send me a PM.

Gallo, Thanks for the happy homecoming!

Dar, I will PM you.

Update on my life... Hartley is 17 months old now and I'm about a third of the way through cooking #2. Come July, we will have a foursome. Too bad I hate golf! :)

cluckin_crazy - I LOVE your user name! desertmarcy has black and red sex links! She also has awesome heritage lines of chickens!

Her red sexlinks are a New Hampshire male over Delaware females, and the black sex links are New Hampshires crossed with Barred Rocks.

I'm buying a black sex link, and a few New Hampshires and Barred Rocks from her. I'm so excited.

Also, congrats on #2!!!
