Where can one get a SLW or even a GLW? They are really nice looking! I would love to add one or two to my girls.

Nittany wyandottes (peakybeaky) has bred to standard awesome wyandottes. Just as easy to feed gorgeous quality birds as it is those from hatchery

Hi, I live in the west valley. I am looking for someone willing to trade fertile hatching eggs. Mine are all White Leghorn over 1 of the following:
Buff orpington
Speckled Sussex
Black Minorca/Delaware

I just would like to add some color to my flock, mixed breed is fine, This is my first year hatching in an incubator and I'd like to hatch out some variety. Thanks

Does anyone have any good books for the beginning gardener here in Arizona? More specifically, the Phoenix area, as I know the North end of the state can be widely different. I've been looking around and I've read several parts of the Arizona Master Gardener Manual from the University of Arizona. I am looking for something in print that doesn't cost $45.00 or something available on the Kindle, either way. I started digging out my wife's garden last night and I want a good reference for both of us. Neither of us can sit at the computer for the hours it'll take to read the Manual, nor is it the easiest to navigate.

I've also downloaded and read the following:
Vegetable Planting Calendar for Maricopa County.
Ten Steps to a Successful Vegetable Garden
Managing Caliche in the Home Yard
Using Gypsum and Other Calcium Amendments in Southwestern Soils
Low Desert Planting and Harvest Calendar

All are great resources and information, but far more limited than I'm looking for. I'm hoping to find something like Storey's Guide to Raising Chickens.

Oh, and I was thinking I might post in the Gardening Forum also, but I wanted to check here first to get local recommendation. Personally, I'm hoping she'll grow the bulk of the items for my salsa and stews. Tomatoes, a variety of bell peppers, jalapenos, carrots, celery, cucumbers and onions. I'm not sure her area will be big enough for cantaloupe and watermelon.

Hmm, tried to reply earlier but it didn't work! Extreme gardening by Dave owns is a a good storeys guide for gardening in this area

I second the the extreme gardening by Dave Owens, "The Garden Guy". We've literally worn the book out to where it's falling apart. He has more than one book, maybe three, we have two but like the extreme gardening the best. You can find the books and several products at most local nurseries.
