love it, can't wait to see the condo. I said some time ago I wanted to do the same. I am building my coop with a provision for an addition latter. I will be installing a door that goes no where. When I add the other half I will have 2 different partitions, one solid, the other a screen. The door will be the solid partition.

You can get any type of wood you want. I will try to find were we got our hard woods when I worked in a high end mill works. Of course there is Home Depot with a limited selection. I have boxes of the stuff in 1/2 -1 1/2 inch widths and 10" to 14" long. They are the stuff left over after sizing the planks. It is all over 10 years old. I gave several bundles ways about 5 or 6 years ago to a model boat maker.

They look all gray... But they clean up nicely. I have been wanting to glue a bunch together but I do not have the right pressure clamps. To make something of them. If anyone wants some PM. I have plenty, bass wood, mahogany, teak, maple, oak, and how knows what. Right now it is all gray and very, very dry.

If you lived anywhere near me I'd take it all!

This summer, when I need to get away it would be nice to visit SV again. If I do I will PM you and grab a bundle or two. I used to be a wood carver, had all the tools, and then some. Using my clamps I could create all kinds of stuff, knife handles, tables, boxes, and art work for a few. I just couldn't see it all thrown away. After about a year I started to take some home. One of the men cut it up for me so it will be manageable in the back of my car. I would have liked it as it was. But I told them it was for camp fires. It is beautiful. We had a huge project for a Caribbean Resort in all Teak. But I only got a little of that. It was painful to see it all in a land fill.

This just got posted, the organic feed co-op that has been in Phoenix for awhile has expanded to Tucson. I've been getting their feed for awhile and have been very happy.

Does anybody in the Tucson and/or Pima County area have Jersey Black Giants? Am thinking of getting a few & wanted to talk to locals with firsthand knowledge. Even better if you have fertile eggs or chicks to sell or trade

I have one =) I don't have chicks though. I REALLY like her. She is my favorite on my outdoor hens. I would really like to get into breeding them. If you are interested in splitting a hatching egg order PM me =)

My feed store just got Toulouse goslings!!! Aaand I think I convinced my husband to let me get one!
Do any of you have geese with your chickens? I think she will be a house goose, but she will get lots of time outside while I'm out there working.

Do you know if they are dewlap Toulouse or regular Toulouse? I have Sebbies and they are the most entertaining things to watch. They are better than guard dogs because if anything comes around they squawk like crazy! They don't fight with the chickens but are not bonded to them either. They like to push my roosters around which is entertaining as the boys need to be put in their place. I want to get dewlap Toulouse but have not found anyone local that have them.

It doesn't say they are, but the feed store people aren't very knowledgeable. Is there a reason to get dewlap Toulouse? I prefer the looks of them without.

Also Palo Verde Animal Hospital off of the 51 at Northern - Dr. Babcock. He does get some mixed reviews online, but (honestly) I think this is because he is older and a little more gruff, and hard of hearing. He's treated probably 5 of our chickens over the years, and is also the vet that did the successful decrowing procedure for us. He's done very well by us, and the clinic staff are very accommodating and friendly!

Yay!!! We had our first Free Range afternoon. I let the girls out around 5pm and it took about 5 minutes before anyone was brave enough to leave the run. Then they stayed close together for a while before some splintered off. About 6:20 a few girls headed back into the run and by 6:45 everyone was back in.
Button was brought out by hand and taken back in by hand and she has a definite limp. I massaged the leg she is favoring and she had no issue with that. I had a chat with her about making big girls sounds so she will better fit in.
The wife and daughter and I all chaperoned this party and poor old Dyna had to stay in the house. She was whining the whole time. Poor girl. I wanted the flock to have a hassle free first time out without a crazy old dog chasing them.

Oh great! I bet they had fun.. Have you checked her for bumble foot?
Isn't it great that they put themselves to bed.. We let our flock play with the new black cooper Marans last night.. Same thing
they were to afraid to leave the tractor.. They did only for a minute and only like 2 feet from it.. They got peeked from the others.
Our roo kent didn't seem to mind to much.. These girls are 6 weeks and our polish, french cooper maran, light brahma, & lakenvelder
Are all 2 weeks.. What a size difference.. Boy do those polish have longer legs..

Our neighborhood Roassted marshmallow get together was fun... Hope to see you in Tucson.. My kids have been asking about camping..
How far is the camping by water to fantacy island?

About an hour drive. The closer we get to summer, the less water that canyon will have.
