I said I would post today pictures of what is done to this point. the coop egg door has to get done tomorrow. I have to paint the inside and add one more roosting bar. I can wait on the clean out door because the front is open. I put the old coop in there pen for now, I will turn it around for the nephew girls later. I decide to paint it to match my house. Later I will get a better color match, paint the shed and the coop again.
I will have to get the temporary posts for the fencing, The rattan is for shade and to cover how flimsy it may be. The misting and water supply will eventually be under ground to the coop yard.
The tarp is temporary as the way the mister is in. I have only 1 beam in the one that is not stained, I will be putting a permanent cover later. I have to tweak the mister a little more, it is to wet right now. I plan on getting a more flexible timer, an off on thing. The girls didn't need any herding, the all cam in and stayed.

I hope I can finish it up tomorrow.

I wish I could have built it all at once, with all the materials in the correct order. But . . . I hope no one can tell.

Thanks for the compliments. I got the inside painted with its first coat. Boy, it would have been nice to paint it first then assemble, it is not easy to work in such a space. When I was 45 and 128-130# and could work under the dash (you have to be a pritzal to do that), it wouldn't have been so hard, or so messy. I will be painting over the backside imprint on the south wall ware I backed into it. I feal real optimistic. I will have it done to a spot it will be functional. Then when I have my hand make it look nice.

Yes, in deed the hardware cloth dose drive you crazy I used a lot of clamps, had to buy some really nice ones. It is not easy to hold a board over your head with one hand drill a piglet hole, place a screw in it the change out the drill bit for a driver, and screw in the screw, all whilE balancing on a ladder

Just checked on my girls. They keep going in and out of their old coop. They seem lost. Earlier half went to the old spot, the other half tge old pen and then looked at the coop, it is facing the wrong way to them, and they seem stressed. I know they are all up set, had only 1 egg today, that was before I moved everything.
I guest this is to be expected. Tomorrow night the chicks go in the old pen, next to the big girls. I am going to use a large dog kennel with a roost. The roost will be the very last thing I do if I have time.

I wonder just how long before they use the new coop. When I have my hand back I am going to take apart the old coop, fix it and put it back to gather. Knowing me I will never run short of projects.

I have 14, one month old Heritage Delawares for sale.  These are HIGH QUALITY birds.  I'll be saving at least 6 for Boston so that leaves 8.

I want at least $8 each.  PM me.  I also have 3 week old Aloha's, Some 6 week old FBCMs, a Blue naked neck, a couple of wheaten Ameraucanas and a couple of Olive eggers.  Aloha's $4 each, $8 for the FBCMs, $5 for the Naked Neck, $8 for the Ameraucans and $9 for the Olive eggers..  Also a Heritage SLW $7.

I have to have the grow out pens ready to be taken apart by the 20th.  If no one buys them, Boston will get all of them.

I also have a trio of 3 month old Silver Spangled Hamburgs.  (roo and two pullets)  $50 for the three.

just got back from San Carlos, Son. It was wonderful. My neighbor did take care of the backyard mob. And apparently they loved it! They are fat and sassy as well as real calm. I guess he spent lots of time with them on his off time and basically kept the Turkeys with him all the time. ha! They are sooo addicting. The ladies are all getting combs and wattles. Also, their calls have changed. Less chirping and more clucking. Yeehaa!

Brewing a Blonde today. In my usual fashion, I made up this recipe while standing at the brew store eyeballing the grains. I've never made up a Blonde recipe before though. Hopefully it's good.

Lady Galadriels Mirror
9# German Pilsner malt (base grain)
2# Domestic wheat
1# 10L Crystal
1/4# Carapils
1oz US Tettnang bitter 60min
1/2oz Sorachi Ace bitter 60min
1oz Czech Saaz flavor 15min
1/2oz Sorachi Ace aroma 10min
2 Tbsp crushed Coriander seed added with flavor hop
WLP060 American Ale Blend yeast

Just found another egg that wasn't there an hour ago. I've been out here the whole time and still have no clue who did it. 6 eggs in 7 days! When all 8 girls start laying, We're gonna have a lot of eggs!
