Arizona Chickens

You're in my thoughts....I feel for you. 20 years is a great life you provided....Hope Foxy gave a good talk to Coco about the cats & chickens....bet so. It is so hard to let go....it's all part of having pets and animals. As hard as it may be to let go their memories will last lifetimes! Knowing you gave a good life to rescues and otherwise, is rewarding. 20 years is miraculous, IMO.

We had so many great memories.. Plus this was the boys 2nd time going with us.. At first D.H. Was like I'm not going. Then he was like just take
the kids, THEN, OK we are all going.. I think he was having a harder time... The vet said she might twitch after she is gone.. For some reason I
never remember that happening till now.. When she did we all laughed and said a joke.. It was a good passing... I thought it was her time over a year
ago... So I have been ready.. Good life lessons for the boys...

Thank all of you for your thoughts...

On another note City Farm (student) (mother) (spouse) (Friend) My new chicks (mutts) are very calm and I am looking forward to seeing them grow. One is larger than the other and has assumed the role of nurturer ? I wonder ? Is she a he ? (due to the size difference ?) Fermented grower feed and fresh greens. They are very calm and sweet, I love them !
Sweet... They have been on F.F. From day one.. Along with our neighborhood wild weeds & scaps... Wouldn't it be just great if only one was a roo... :weee Hope so... I think the larger one is the oldest.. They all hatched on a different day.. The smallest one was hatched 8 days later.. November 18 I think was the first one.. Can't wait to see what they look like also.. I must say our rooster is calm, quiet and beautiful. He doesn't crow till the sun is up.. His dad Kent Sr. Would crow all night..

Kaclinkelley, thank you. I used to have a passion for cooking and food. When I found I could have a tast of the old & and 3rd world cooking by finding and just asking people of their home land, a new world outlook on food. My tast buds sadly limit me, do to years of bland / Swiss / Minnesota / Norwigen cooking. What was good I had to find on my own, to my surprise a lot is wonderful that comes from these places. I thought myself to taste foods with open mind and to understand what I am looking for. Example: the fruit peppers I just can not handle as a rule. But I know how to use them, by tasting and looking for flavor profiles. I, at one time, could prepare dishes I do not like, because I know what it is saposed to tast like.

The same with music. My grandson would play demo records of his friends for me. I really hate his music. I turned on my second ear. Looking for "the Sound", I picked out elements, told him my opinion. Every band wants to have their sound signature. In music it is the same as in Fashion having nothing to do with Good Taste. There are a lot of really good creative groups out there.... But they do not stay togather. There are few leaders that are able to keep a band to gather, and even fewer that have a sound.

If you are refusing to my talking about food, I have had friends in the past that have said "you make me blush, you make it sound X-rated". Reading books by Peter Ustinov sent home to me how powerful words are in painting an emotion, thought, or experience. I will never be, even close to his command of English. Trying would never work for me. I do not own such a vocabulary, to have at my disposable one word to replace 20 words.

Hi there guys! Don't mean to jump in like this but I am looking to expand my flock and really want to add some jersey giants! I don't want to order from a hatchery. I would much rather buy from someone local. If anyone knows of where I can get some will you please pm me?

Pratt's Glendale has been getting them in lately. I wish I could have a few, for the table. Not practical for me, no space and now knowing I need to trade slottering. I hope I get over it.
