Arizona Chickens

Lol, I am the same kind, will do anything as long as I can avoid driving....

I have two vehicles; a 2 wheel drive truck that gets poor fuel economy, and a 4x4 truck that gets even worse fuel economy!

So yeah, if i can avoid any distance driving, that'd be great.

Also installing misters, but will need a pressure regulator because our hose bibs by the coop are at 115.

We had to do the same thing with the house pressure when we moved in.

holy cow, 115 PSI?!?!?!?! Mine is about 45, I know this because I have a gauge attached to the manifold at water inlet from the feed at the meter box. I cant even imagine it double that, let alone triple! Taking a shower at your house must be like standing in a commercial Car Wash with pressure sprayers, yeah?

Is anyone going to the Pima County Fair? My daughter's in 4-H, so we'll be there all weekend. I'm looking for Silkies. I'm hoping to buy from 4-H er's, but I'd be happy to buy from one of you guys, too.

I've got 7 chickens entered in the Open Poultry Show. I don't keep Silkies though. The Open show is Friday 4/18 through Sunday 4/20. Judging starts Friday at 1 pm and the birds will be released at 6 pm on Sunday. I hope some of you can make it and see some nice birds.

Just came across these on a Reddit post and thought you guys would like them. Very cool. About chicken head tracking.

and some funnier ones
**I'm pretty sure no chickens were harmed during the making of this one

I said in an earlier post that my Brahma was panting when it hit 95 but this is how I found her in the yard today
400

Apparently she has found her own way to stay cool. Notice my BO is looking at her like she's a weird chicken for digging a hole in the dirt to lay in, lol!
With that kind of creativity I have a feeling she'll be just fine this summer!

It probably was a car wash, because they checked it during the inspection of the house and it was 108!!! So the previous owner had a regulator put in and hopefully no damage has been done to any appliances! It is 85 now.

But our shower IS kind of a car wash...dual heads in there!

Which we have always wanted, so it saved us a remodel. :)

Well by the time it hits 115, make sure you don't step on her. The hole will be DEEP!
