When I go on the road I would like a Silkie. I bought 4 from Pratt's. I lost 3, the first 2 soon after I got them home. Their gullets were empty. I just lost a 3rd. I noticed that she kept getting separated from the others, lost. Her gullet was not the same ad the 4th one, hers was never extended. The surviving one is right there, always, when momma calls out "I have something Good!" Her gullet is always full. She has always been more alert and active.
I no longer feel so bad, I now believe it was in part the breeding of the Silkies, being hatchery. I would dearly love to have at lest 2 or 3, because they are so slow to mature, and I want a pullet. Dose anyone have a couple I could pick up close to the time I am leaving in June. About 3 or 4 weeks old, so they will blend in better, a couple of weeks of my little ones. They hatched the middle of April, around Ester.
Thank you
