Arizona Chickens

What do all of you think of those who is selling religions?

My first reaction to this question is I feel sad for them, they really want to share the joy of our Lord,
But still they are going door to door, not selling anything. They don't want your money, soliciting by definition is to ask earnestly for or seek bussiness.. Jesus is free.. However, someone is still disrupting you in your home.. I don't like it nor do most people.. most denomination's follow their own rules or version of their interpretation of God's Holy word.. There you have people that are deceived.
They think they are doing good works. No where in the Bible is there denominations listed.. Now if you are just out & about sure why not talk about Him.. I wonder how many people actually answer their door and become a believer ? I believe that God will put people into our daily lives that are eager to know Him.. I would rather be there than do it threw a door to door invitation.. Or doing things for others as a gift that God has given us to give.. Not preaching to people.. The majority of our friends want nothing to do with Him.. They are still a major part of our lives and we pray they will want to know Him..

Does anyone know of a good pet sitter in the Scottsdale area or a good place to try to find one? I was thinking of trying care.com. We're thinking of going away but won't unless we can find someone to come care for the chickens and other animals. It would be in August.

On a side note my bf found this shirt at Khols in the men's section and bought it for me

@ Macboat's question. ..

yeah I didn't read anywhere in the Bible that there was any denominations but different cities that had a gathering for worship & fellowship.

Would be nicer if they have question in the front and graphics in the back.

That's cute!

Just think about the logic of this for a minute.  A coyote SEES me, right there in front of him and still thinks it's worth a shot at trying to take a chicken a dozen feet away from me.  Another walks right between my wife and I on it's way to grab a bird in the back yard.  If a person's presence doesn't deter them, why would the odor of urine have any impact?  I'm curious about your reasoning.

......that was a good question.

I am not sure Gallo. an old Indian medicine man told my father to do that. we lived on the end of a road and had desert on three sides of us. We had free range chickens ducks geese and turkeys. every once in awhile we lost one. one year it got real bad and so after trying the urination method my father did the dead coyote thing and it worked for us. It also works for rattle snakes. Kill one and spread its blood, they do not cross it. that smell stays strong and coyotes have a much higher sense of smell so maybe thats why.

.....yes this makes sense and seems reasonable the realistic & useful in my opinion.

The area hasn't been claimed by a dominant species with markings. Your presence even with a successful kill to me further shows they believe themselves to be more dominant. To me they're clearly unafraid because they've not been shown a reason to think otherwise. Make them believe that there are easier meals elsewhere. Mark your territory heavy, as would the dominant male of most species, with urine and carcass if possible. If you kill one of their family members even better, and hang it for all to see and smell.

Edited: I just woke up and I'm afraid a part of this didn't make sense. Lol

This just isn't my theory, it's been around the south and southwest for a long time. I saw it everywhere in Texas.
......this makes sense based on k9 Dave's experience of what people have done for a period of time.

@ Gallo. ...... (I'm sorry I'm missing your other quote, please forgive me)
I think you all have some very good points and it could be a combination of any of this that could be very effective depending on the type of coyotes and whether they're urban or rural not etcetera. Dependng the all these factors and the particulars that come into play as to what becomes most effective for each family to Use!.
Thanks everyone for sharing! We certainly have a great team here!:highfive:

I think the only real option is fortifying your coop/run. No matter how many you capture/relocate/snuff, there are always more. I will not let predators dictate whether I keep chickens or not.
Keeping your own chickens for meat/eggs doesn't make a lot of economic sense, unless you're looking at quality of product. Spending even more to keep them safe may not make much economic sense either.
You really only have 2 options:
1) raise chickens and spend the bucks to keep them.
2) don't raise chickens.
Quality of product and not supporting an industry that abuses animals by factory-farming/overcrowding etc are my main reasons. Plus I just like raising them and looking at them.

I agree. Not much sense economically, but I'm doing it anyway. I'm a closet prepper, and I will have food when the crash comes. And, chickens are cool!
