Arizona Chickens

Dave - it the plant is close to the ground it could be alfalfa - often before one or two of the cuttings the farmer lets the alfalfa bloom so it can re-seed (at least so I am told) but the smell is usually lovely.  I always want to get a double hand-full of the fresh cut alfalfa for the girls - they really love it!

That makes sense. I've just never seen an alfalfa bloom I guess. I'm gonna take a pic and maybe a handful. Shhh

If you get caught.. Indian land??

X2!! Yum. Figs are in season.. We have two neighbors that haves said to come by anytime for fresh figs..
Next time they trim I will ask for a clipping for you @K9Dave or two. Do you want a few clippings ?

That's a very nice offer but I don't like figs I less they're in Newtons. Ha. Don't really like those either. In oatmeal I like apples, cinnamon, butter and nuts. I need more suggestions for oatmeal toppings.

Coconut oil & pieces.. Dates, raisins, fresh apples " hard to come by, unless in season" almonds, pecans.. Pine nuts??

Raisins, cranberries, sliced peaches. Try ground ginger or clove as alternative to cinnamon. Ginger goes well with peaches, cinnamon with apple. My fav nut with oatmeal is walnuts, don't really use any other kind. I have mesquite meal that I keep in the freezer from milling years ago. I add a heaping teaspoon of it to the oatmeal before cooking. That adds a different flavor. I always add raw milk also, after cooking, helps cool it down for eating as well as adding nutrition and flavor.

Now you're talking.. How did the meeting go??? how was @carnivore dish?
Was there dirt in there.. From the bumpy ride... :lau

@LadyKotaDoria I noticed the writer of that article is from Licking. At you currently in Licking, Missouri? I ask because I have family there.

We had a good meal. No mud, but the last half mile was a dirt road, so I took it slow. I have a hearing problem, so a lot of the meeting went in one ear and out the other, but we were discussing the November poultry show at the Pima county fair. After the meeting was over, I was informed that I was the show co-chairman! Being deaf su@&s!

Actually don't mind the gopher snakes since they help keep the mice & gopher population. They are not venemous but will bite if cornered.
