Arizona Chickens

HELP!!!!! I have eggs coming out the ever lovin wazoo. My refrigerator is overflowing and now the counter tops are getting full. Need to give away some eggs ASAP. Getting about one dozen a day and all my hens are not laying yet. Love eggs but this is way beyond a few eggs for our consumption. Hope they slow down this winter but the BOs layed right through the winter last year. Got two new rescue horses today which means most of my time will be spent rehabilitating so less time on my chickens.

That's a good problem to have!! When I have an overabundance of eggs, I beat a bunch and freeze them for leaner times to come - kind of like homemade "egg beaters"!

Yes I sure do Sir, I also fly fish for catfish, sunfish and trout. I also tie my own flies and have a few I created myself which work very well for almost everything out here and in Idaho. Gallo I read that you breed BSFL any way you could send me some? We could trade flies for BSFL. ;)

I can barter for some as well if you have plenty?

I have family members and neighbors who are already asking for eggs and I haven't even gotten my chicks yet. I think they are looking forward to it as much as I am. Well, I doubt it, but they are looking forward to eggs. Haha.

Thanks for the warm welcome! We "think" the chickens are about 15 weeks old now. The neighbor's daughter-in-law said three different sets of chicks hatched, so we are not sure about their ages. We recently found out that all 7 of them have an Orpington for a daddy; and six of them have a RIR for a mother and 1 has an Australorp for a mother. So, I guess we have a flock of barnyard mutts! We are very anxious to find out which ones are pullets and which ones are roosters. And need I say again that we are really looking forward to our first egg?! I will attach some pics of our little ones.

I see a lot of big red combs. You should be getting eggs soon.

For roosters, look for bigger combs and wattles, pointy curving, shiny feathers by the tail and pointy shiny feathers on the neck.
The last picture is a pullet but I don't really see another one in these pictures. It's hard to tell for sure, though. If you post pictures side and top pictures of each individual it would be easier to tell.
