Arizona Chickens

Hi, my blue Cochin and barred rock have been sneezing A LOT lately, and I'm wondering if they are getting sick or are dick. Thanks

OH MY GOSH!!!!! I meant to say sick instead of d••k

Your funny.. I need to edit my post, so I understand... It happens ..
Our flock has been sneezing more than normal too.. We have ours on antibiotics now.. You can hear them if they are sick.. Hold them up to your ear & listen. If you hear a popping they most likely need antibiotics.. Just make sure you don't wear earrings.. They will eat just about everything..

Chicks all arrived safe and sound!! We are really happy about it! looks like we only have one rooster, based on size alone -possibly a barred rock, and another which is Murray mcmurray's auracana/ ameraucana mix that is also somewhat bigger than the other A/A's... It's obviously hard to tell right now. But we are excited to help them grow!
Babies! Make sure to post pics as they grow.

My mom sure learned the hard way about chickens and ear rings! She was bent over "talking" to some of her chickens and one took her ear ring out and swallowed it. A week later it happened again. I guess my mom is a slow learner but now she doesn't let them get too close to her ears. She never did recover the lost jewelry.

How fun..:goodpost:
Did they come in the mail?? I ask only cause I did not think they mailed here this time of year..
So happy that you can post up photo's. Can't wait to them get bigger..

Yes they came in the mail! We were worried too and had resigned ourselves to the thought of having one or two DOA. But they came early this morning from Minnesota after being there a whole day too! Nerve racking! Anyhow, all were peeping and excited to have some space! They were very tired and stressed. We got them water and electrolytes and some electrolyte gel that murrays sent with them. They all perked up and having been doing their chickly duties since then! They are all bedded down together and sleeping now... Here are some close ups... Sorry for the red hue I figure you all understand.

Does anyone know of a web site that you can type in the symptoms of the bird's to get a better idea of your issue.. I spoke to someone and they said it was not mites, but lice.. Golly,gee.. There was no egg's attached to the girls that I saw them on.. My problem was I was looking at the wrong girl's.. I did find only 2 girl's with some egg's.. Idk, any idea's.

City Farm, this is a really good question And I'm hoping somebody out there might know the answer to this. I know there are a lot of good universities have information on different diseases that poultry's get and I can't remember some of the websites I've read, at the moment. But I would think there's got to be one out there. I wonder if we can all search and see if one of us can find it? Anyone?? :idunno

I know the feeling! My pullet, Pippen, leaped up onto my lap, snatched one of my favorite pearl earrings out of my ear, hopped back down and swallowed it before I could react. I was devastated and whimpered about it for days. They were a gift from my son during a particularly difficult time, and I wore those earrings almost constantly. I've been told I may find the earring in her gizzard once she reaches butchering age, but given that it's a pearl, I'm not holding out much hope of finding anything other than the post it was mounted to.
