Arizona Chickens

I finally got my blue/green egg!! My EE Leia who had been in and out of the vet's office a couple months back for having a large fluid filled cyst that kept refilling completely recovered and ended up being the second of my new flock to start laying. As some of you remember I got a cream colored egg from my last EE, Eleanor, so this time when I had to restart my flock I got an EE, an OE, and an Ameraucana to guarantee myself some sort of colored egg. Leia finally gave me my colored egg. I'm beyond happy. In other news our little silkie the ended up being a roo has been awesome to the girls. He's been wooing them with gifts and is very sweet in his attempts to mount them. Since most of them aren't laying or squatting yet he just gives up and moves on and isn't pushy or mean with them. It's very cute.

Back a month or 3, I got some more black copper Marans from @desertmarcy. One of the pullets has started laying, today is her second egg. Still small, but nice color.......

@desertmarcy Nice color egg! . Your Black Copper Marans egg Is one of the darkest ones I've seen in a while. Lucky you cyborg! Whenever we get up that way I'll have you save me a couple of that hens eggs even though they're tiny! ;) I'd like to have you show my son how to shoot a bow and arrow sometime.....

.....No not at your chickens though,, Lol! :gig

Looks great! I'm getting some even darker than that from some of mine. Some are lighter, though. I have no idea which ones are laying what at this point but I'm not ready to start pairing anything up yet so it doesn't matter.

I've got a pullet from that stock and I'm waiting for a first egg from her. Her comb and wattles are nice and red so it may not be long! She is the first of that breed that I've had so it will be interesting to see what she produces.

very pretty! My BCM doesn't lay anywhere near that, but she's hatchery stock so not much can be expected. Mine is closer to a Welsummer egg.

Does anyone need an olive egger cockerel? They are from a black copper marans roo (from @desertmarcy ) over EEs. I've got a batch of OE chicks and have way more boys than girls. The pullets are all spoken for, but all these boys will have to go into the freezer if no one needs one for their OE project. They are mostly black with tan or red markings, feathered feet and pea combs. They hatched from very large to jumbo eggs so have good egg size genetics for your OE project.

I don't have a pic of them but this is their full brother. He is wearing a no crow collar.
