Arizona Chickens

Looking for at least 4 more laying hens to supplement a growing foster family's egg production. They already have some layers, but with more kids they could use more eggs. Please let me know if you have laying hens available for $10 or less each. South Phoenix area or down towards Coolidge and Casa Grande.

Consider some coturnix quail for the kids. They are cute, a kid friendly size and rival the best of the best chicken layers for egg production. They even lay all summer when the chickens have all but stopped because of the heat.

Here are my 20 day old babies having some fun in the sun... their first dust bath!

Too cute! I love it when they take their first dust bath.

When my mama hen took her five chicks outside and dropped down into the dirt for a dust bathe they all stood there staring at her like she'd lost her mind. I could hear an entire dialog in my head as she tried to instruct them on dust bathing while obviously in total ecstasy over being able to care for herself after sitting on those eggs for so long.

@Tina88 Isn't it just wonderful watching them do new (to us) things! Melts my heart. Hard to believe most of it comes naturally!!
@DesertChic I do the same thing when I have a momma and babies! I even go so far as talking to the momma saying "Did you remember to tell them......" LOL!!

I just found some wonderful information on Oregano Oil in the use of chickens!! :)
apparently it works good on worms and seems to help in peafowl too. Here's the info as I dont know how to copy the link on this! Sorry!

In BYC look up ........ Oregano oil works for cocci and worms, it works!

We will look it up!! I found one yesterday when I was making a new garden bed.. There was lot's of dove poo on the ground near the area..
I put this round worm in a Baggie. I want to see how long it will live without a host.. So totally gross I know, but I want to do a independent study...

first I will sale all 3 silver Wyandotte chicken.
I never sale chicken before I don't know how much it will be.
how much you like to pay for?

15 - 20 dollars is reasonable per chicken, they are young layers. I would be interested in one or two fo your silver laced wyandottes.

Do you have a new SLW hen?? :frow

Do you have her on antibiotics? As soon as she's done with that then you can put her back in with everybody else. If you don't have her on any medicine I put her back in with everybody else.

Last shot tonight. Tomorrow she will be back with her BFFS!

Oh awesome!!! The things we do for our spoiled rotten flock!!

Guess what!! Yes, finally one of the Clones laid an egg the other day. Both green eggs are from the bielefelder mixes. Beautiful green colored egg. I'm so excited. The one on the right is a oopps egg from the other bielefelder. .still pretty color.
I'm so happy with the colors you got from those girls!
Ya know, I'm thinking that each hen has a slightly different color.. One is a more bright green, while the other is a bit more olive color... Which I SO LOVE!! Plus one has a bit of a point one one end.. The other egg is kinda oblong.. Thank you so much for them, they are the sweetest hen's..

You have come to the right place.. Hope someone will be able find some for you.. It is all in the timing.. Our duck's lay just as much
as our chicken's.. Their egg's are bigger & they are way more heathier than chicken's & they taste better.
. We use their pond water to water our plants.. :weee. Double bonus .. Water feature..
Plus they will eat all of the foliage bebris I don't add to our compost.. We just absoulutly love them!!
