Arizona Chickens

oh, no this is in Tucson. its the "Hobby Ace"

yeah all of these breeds were marked very appropriately from what I can see, and they guarantee sex as well 99% of the time.

you would have come with half the stock? i know I would!!!

I know it took all my will power plus a fervent head shake from my bank account to tear me away from the polish and favrolles

They had cream leg bars in with the Favrolles and sebrights as well .
o my goodness, Tucson is even closer to me then phoenix , gosh now that's really tempting :th but since i live all alone after my husband died a wile back , i must have will power or face the consequences all alone as well and i already keep a flock of 75 wonderful birds that make enough money to feed them selves & me to, so my chickens take good care of me and yeah sure some days i think i should be on a beach enjoying my early retirement , but really that would not last long before i would really miss my birds , so good i cant drive to Tucson at present , other wise i would be leaving that store with chicks of each kind coming out of both my ears & shopping bags full..:D...lol.......HA :lau some one stop meeeeeeeeee.....lol... :D :lau :p :lau

Sorry to have to tell you this Dianna, but those males will not be able to be sold at a good profit. Most people are only wanting the girls. The one's who might take 1 boy from you has to make sure that they have enough girls for them, which is normally at least 10 girls. OK, so you sell 1 boy. Now what are you going to do with the rest of them? Hatches average a 50/50% chance of both sexes! You would have to kill the rest of the boys that don't sell.
I am sure after a few hatches I would get tired enough of too many roosters, and unsold hatch-lings would be snake bait, like another person has suggested. I think that the leghorn based cream legbars might tolerate heat, I was sad that DesertChick had a poor result with Bielfielders in the desert heat. They still sound good for Prescott, but you are right about what if you want to sell some chicks or extra adults. Most people in AZ are in the desert, not up here with us old people and no jobs! If you want to breed any kind of bird, the first thing to consider is what to do with your extra chicks! (This goes double for parrot chicks)!

hi ya blue baby...! hows by you..? and yes thats true also but some one who wants to eat them could do that , in case they dont sell or they cant give them away ..? i was reading about that breed and they are nice tempered birds so its just like every thing else the end result is always a toss up as to how it all goes down i guess..!
Yes, you can eat them, just like you can eat quail. They are small for the amount that they eat after they start crowing. My brown leghorn roosters tasted ok, but tough. Crock pot material even at 20 weeks, and about 2 pounds dressed!
