Arizona Chickens

Here outside Eloy/Casa Grande it is going to be cool today as well. The wind had a bite to it this am when I was out. The sun is wonderful to sit in. My girls are all hiding from the wind - they are not fans of windy days. I lost one of my 6 year old girls yesterday. I'm sure it was just old age, she was showing the slows of age and allowed me to pick her up whenever I wanted, allowed me to put her on the roost, her eating and drinking slowed down this week so I knew the end was near. Having hens who are old like I do, you get to know when they are feeling really old. Some rally around and others just peacefully sit and go. She had a great happy life. RIP Lovey

It's always sad to lose one of them, but I've no doubt she had a wonderful life with you. Six years old is pretty impressive, especially for our harsh, desert environment.
:hugs

So sorry to hear about your Lovely. Sounds like she went peacefully.

@meetthebubus thanks! He's an english bull terrier/pit bull mix, 6 to 8 weeks. We named him Frank. His right eye is light blue, heterochromatic.
