I've had 3 from my ee in the last 3 days, but she took a break for a few weeks :idunno

I just put the last of the blue girls eggs in a carton for my neighbor. Bummer.
 
@meetthebubus it is always the sweethearts, isn't it? I hate that! I mean all of my chickens are wonderful but I have a special connection to this girl. She's the one in my avatar pic. I am going out for massage #4...the crop seems a little softer, and I guess I would describe it as gritty feeling. Kind of like a bean bag. Still large. She is not eating food, but she did eat the grit with oil and drinks lots of water. She falls asleep in my lap when I massage her. Thank you for all the good vibes everyone, I hope she pulls through. I have never been more excited to see a good ol regular chicken poop...but it would sure ease my mind if she could produce one!

Yes we eat them, fertile eggs aren't a bother either. We are 2 people and had 9 layers. That's a lot of eggs. My sons girlfriend has chickens so I only have my daughter to supply. My mom moved sort of away so I don't see her often but she gets a dozen when I do. I feed to the dogs regularly and give some back to the chickens. When they pile up I take a dozen to the neighbor. She's really nice, brings us oranges from her tree every year. I don't mind sharing. I am going to tell her that after this dozen I won't have any for a bit because the girls will be molting soon and I lost the 2.

Ok, I share mine too with a few over here. It helps me to keep my refrigerated ones rotated. I don't like keeping too many in there.

I hope that you will get mostly pullets in your hatch. I'm watching for Aug. 2nd, not Aug. 3rd. ;):gig
