Ok, I share mine too with a few over here. It helps me to keep my refrigerated ones rotated. I don't like keeping too many in there.
I hope that you will get mostly pullets in your hatch. I'm watching for Aug. 2nd, not Aug. 3rd.![]()

Yes, but if any boys hatch from those tan colored one's, they will be meaty. Are you getting any rain over there yet? I just checked the weather radar and see some headed our way from the NW it look's like.
Is anyone else getting a few of those double-yolk eggs besides me? I have had 4 huge egg's already and candled them to see 2 yolks in them! I couldn't sell 3 of them to @igorsMistress yesterday for hatching because of it. Today I got another one.
If I get a roo from the NN eggs I'm going to keep him and try again. I like the birds with no bow ties so that's what I would breed for. I'm trying to get hubs to show me how to butcher so I can help him and then we can have some meat birds too. I couldn't believe how big your girls are compared to the two little black girls I got last summer.
No rain yet, but I can hear a bit of thunder out there. I looked at the weather radar, it's headed right for us, won't be long.
Actually, I got a HUGE 3.3 ounce egg with two massive yolks in it from one of my 2 year old hens. I think my girls are all happy with the rain and cooler temperatures.
That's because these NN's are meatbird's that happen to also lay egg's!
Bigger than the NNs I got last summer even! Like might have to make the pop door bigger bigger.
You went out to look at them, and seen how big that even those girls are. They are bigger than my last Australorp hen that I have left!
Yup and they're just beautiful too! I'm so excited, can't wait to see what we get!
How often do you candle your eggs? I was thinking about waiting 10 days. Don't want to accidentally pitch a viable egg.
