Once I can determine what's Bucket Jr.'s egg and some of the other pretty color eggs from the NN's in with the main flock, I'll hatch those. I've got 4 or 5 of them in with the main flock from one's that I've hatched, that way their not bred with Charlie.

I have two female ducks for sale in Phoenix. I want them to go to someone who will keep them for eggs and not meat. I am unable to care for them. Their names are Lucy and Midnight.

I thought id have dna results back for my silkies already. If it takes much longer, i won't need the results.

I tried to take an updated pic of the black silkie, who i think is male, but i didn't bother after he cut my arm w his crazy feet scratching me. Seems like there are a ton of feathers still pinning on the back of his neck, plus he is overall very large. Hes always chest bumping and overall not the sweet bundle of fluff i envisioned getting w a silkie!!

The little partridge silkie is the one i am really hoping is female. So the crest isn't exceptionally poofy, but its pretty even and very soft. Carries her body low, gets along well w the others. Can you guys tell me if i am missing any roo features? They are now 9 weeks old.

Sounds like a boy to me! I can't tell from a Silkie's feathers, but boys will be boys!

That's what i am thinking. His down is still coming out, so i don't think his feathers are that good of an indicator.. but the D'Uccles and the partridge silkie are just so mellow and calm and congregate nicely together. I know the D'Uccles are female, and the partridge acts similarly. The legs and feet are massive on the black silkie.

It was a little funny to watch him get aggravated tonight. I opened the top door for the D'Uccles to fly out.. and he was flapping his wings, stretching and jumping and trying unsuccessfully to follow them out.

If both silkies end up male, do you think they'd get along as adults? They do like to spend most of their time together. I wonder how hard it would be to rehome them together. Ill keep the partridge if it's female though. I feel bad because they are so spoiled and comfortable, i wonder if they can adjust to normal chicken life in the outside world.

Other silkie owners are just like you! They will spoil him, too! Some males get along fine if they are raised together since chicks, you just have to be patient & wait & see . . .
