Arizona Chickens

Unless people want them to breed, they have no use except to eat them. They are pretty uncommon, so no one has hens for the extra males. It is not as difficult to process these guys as a drake! About the same amount of meat for dinner, not as tasty as duck :drool though. Still getting over Drake Day. No helper to take pictures, sorry. Before Drake photos are better anyway! #FreezerCampBoyz
I'll help next Drake Day and take pics - let me know!

So much easier with another pair of (clean) hands using the camera!

After i saw Parront's chicken xylophone (a while back) I remembered I had one just sitting on back porch and now my chickens occasionally play it - really they do!
How cool! I got one for my chickens too. They pecked it when i first gave it to them, but have seemed to lose interest. Ill hang it in their playground in the next project (or next, next, next project).

Im watching antenna tv.. emergency! Is on.. and first few minutes they are trying to get into a house fire, and someone yells, grab the asbestos blanket!! It's like a time capsule! I guess that's a sign to get back to the projects 😔

Maybe you could stick a little piece of cooked rice or something on the key's where you want them to peck at?

Oh good idea..!! Hmm.. i need to start training with treats. I avoid it w dogs, i use affection instead, but it would be great w the birds. I've been able to easily train Minnie, but i think thats just her, not necessarily chickens in general. Since they are hand raised, i can probably get them to do quite a bit (now im imaginging a parrot bicycle).

When they randomly peck at it give them their favorite treat. Sunflower, piece of KFC . . .
