We’ve got ISA browns now but in a year, we will replace them, assuming they die of old age. If we hatch them, we can consume any that crow.So you need the females and not the male's?

Thanks for the offer but we are looking into next year. We have one of the older Lyon incubators, the Cadillac of incubators at the time that holds 18 and an incubator we got off of eBay, the Moo Go Gai Pan express that holds 24, so the plan is to hatch a flock with associated attrition.I have the 4 that are in my incubator right now if you wanted them, but I don't know if they are boy's or girl's yet. If there's any boy's you could eat them about the time they would want to crow.
and similar for unincorporated Yavapai county. No roosters allowed, but in some areas you can hear them throughout the day.You would like Prescott. We are not supposed to keep roosters here, but there are at least 4 that I know of in my neighborhood. Compost and horses are all here, too.
I know, you would think that in the county they would be allowed! I pay off my neighbors in eggs & chicks. One of my young cockerels lives nextdoor, Mr. Backup plan! She has 5 Barred Holland pullets, too. I will be getting some eggs to hatch from her one of these days.and similar for unincorporated Yavapai county. Looking on eBay, we can pick up fertile eggs in Vista Ca, a 4 hour drive. The plan is to find someone in Yuma or ~along the route to my job in Phoenix so we can pick up the eggs so we can increase the chances of hatching.
Good luck!!I have 4 pips on the "Bad Boyz" duck eggs this morning! Tomorrow is day 28.
I have leghorns. They are very nice chickens, and the rooster is a sweetie.I met a fellow on here who breeds them, they are pretty rare. I like white eggs, and these are nicer and larger birds than a Leghorn. I think a few white eggs makes the rest look more colorful! I have eaten the cockerels from the Barred Hollands, they are larger than a Leghorn, but only about 2 - 2.5 pounds at 12-14 weeks. The 14 weeks are about right, less pinfeathers and 2.5 pounds or so. They started to crow as young as 10 weeks, they had to go!
