Arizona Chickens

Sometimes when I walk outside to relax the chickens start squacking like crazing! It's like they know I want it to be quiet so they just ruin it for me.:p
I wonder if you could go out there several times a day, even several times in a few hours when you have any spare time, just to get them used to seeing you come out and they might stop squacking up a storm ?

I know what you mean. Even over here in Maricopa, more businesses and home's are being built on my end of the city. A few years ago they were about to start building homes way too close to me, and I was glad when the housing crash happened and put a stop to it.
I just shudder to think how these developers are "documenting" their 100 year assured water supply. Up here we have a small water company and a few small wells. It'll have to be hauled from somewhere when all the extra houses going up even near me get occupied.

Miles out of town is not even safe, though.
I've been thinking about that. I had a flat/low tire yesterday. I drove a few miles to get air, then this morning remembered I had just bought a portable compressor/fix a flat kit! So you could always move to the other end of the county, find a place backing to trust land, and get a shotgun for the rattlesnakes that come into your coop and scare you to death!

There was a big court case on similar with Sun City. They deliberately built Sun City way out in the middle of nowhere to maximize their profits by not having to spend on infrastructure, then people moved there and complained about the feed lot. The court said the residents were "coming to the nuisance" and although the dairies would have to shut down as del webb (developer) asked, del webb would have to compensate them, because they knew better than to build a city out in the middle of nowhere right next to a feedlot.

I know, and many of the relator's don't disclose to the potential buyer that the house they would like to buy is near a feedlot, nor do the people even check to see if it is or not. Even if the cow feedlot's are closed, the bull's pee has already been absorbed in the soil, and that smell will still be there for year's afterward's.

I know what you mean about that. The water table is already low and we are still in a drought. A farmer down the road from me is already upset because he had to dig his well's deeper just to be able to have the water for his field's. I hope that he will grow a few row's of that sweet corn that he does again this year.

Always carry a good spare tire with you too, and every so often have them rotate and rebalance the tire's that are already on your vehicle.

I meant safe from noisy & messy crappy neighbors. (Like the guy across the street)!
Rattlers are good neighbors! I would trade the guy across the street for one any day.

Always a good plan. I had to buy a spare tire when I got my little Smart car. They do not come with a spare, only an air compressor and a can of fix a flat. How Smart is that, drive across the desert without a spare? :thIt was the devil to find a jack to fit the tiny car.

I can imagine that with that little bitty car that you have. I was surprised that you were able to fit all of those chicken's in it.
