Arizona Chickens

Good grief! I thought I had the monopoly on bad luck! Hope your head/neck are OK.
Well, hopefully the whole year's worth of bad luck was packed into January (started 1/2/22) and will be over for the rest of the year. :D

Yes, and the rattlesnake would bite you when you woke him up and moved him just so that he could see his shadow.
Yes, they get a bit cranky. :D

Well, the person decided they didn't want Gabriel, so I'll be posting him on the rehoming thread. Too bad, he's kind of pretty.

Just finished giving the flock and those duckling's their Sunday treat of wet feed with the vitamin and electrolyte water. In the summertime I do that on Sunday's and Wednesday. I picked those day's so that I don't forget when it need's to be done.

One of my August '21 Naked Neck hens just laid her first egg - I think it was Cowgirl Jr - it was a light brown egg.
One of the 2 pullet's that were due to start laying egg's layed her first egg this afternoon too. The only thing is that she layed it on top of the grow-out pen, and when she tried to pull the egg under her, it fell off and broke. Then she just stood up there crying about it. I figured those 2 pullet's were ready to start laying because I seen the rooster mating them the past few day's.

I saw an ad for an unopened 50 lb. bag of crushed oyster shells for chickens on Craigslist, and plan to pick it up tomorrow. February is coming! :)
Sometimes you can find something good up there that is priced right. Other time's it's trashy or they just want too much money for it.
