Arizona Chickens

Well that didn't work. :( I contacted the man selling the colored eggs and explained that I would not be bidding on the auction, which ends in two days, because my incubator is in use, but would like to get some eggs from him later this summer. He said it's rare to get an egg that color, but invited me to follow him on Facebook. So much for that. Back to what I'm raising.

I finally released the 4 chick's that were out there in the grow-out pen before the sun started going down. I sat out there for a bit to see how the big one's would treat them. It look's like it will be ok. I'm planning on moving the 5 that are in the brooder out to the grow-out pen within the next couple of day's. Then I won't have any chick's here in the house, and all of the chick's will have time to get used to being out there and each other before those hot summer temp's hit.

Gotta have one, gotta have one, gotta have one! Green is my favorite color. :D
Same here..

LOL, those are nice! Last year there was a thread where people were posting pictures of their Easter Eggers' eggs. To cause trouble and maybe make them laugh, I posted this picture of the eggs that I dyed for Easter and told them they were from my Leghorns. Most people got the joke, but one did not. Leghorns could not possibly lay them. I assured here they were genuine Leghorn Easter eggs. I never said they laid them already dyed.

Did that pattern on the eggs come naturally,, or was there something in the coloring kit to do such???:love
Loooooong ago when I was growing up,, Mom did not have coloring supplies like available now. She boiled the eggs with onion skins. They came out light brown/tan in color.
