Arizona Chickens

I have 6 chicks in a brooder in the shed right now. 3 Rhode Island reds and 3 barred rocks. They’ll be a month old on Wednesday. We have a fairly large pre fab coop with run that we have reinforced and are doing modifications on. The weather is awful. I can’t wait to start acclimating them for outdoors. How about you?
I just have my Bielefelder flock and breeding them to keep them pure. I just sold 6 chicks of them to @EmmaDonovan the other day.

They are beautiful and very tame and friendly! Unfortunately one is a boy, I didn't realize until I was almost home. We cannot have roos here so we cannot keep him.

Nine new balls of fluff: three Easter eggers, two white leghorns, two black Australorps, and two Rhode Island reds.

All are eating and drinking and very active. Like the Bielefelders, they love the feathers on the brooder plate. This leghorn has a friend behind her and it looks like she has a dramatic third leg. 🤣

Yes it’s very nice. You definitely need to be here when it’s summer for you! These are my first chickens. Well when I stayed on my aunt’s property 10 years ago for about a year, she had chickens and one decided to adopt our yard and pig where she had babies…but then we moved. Looking forward to this so much.
O you're in for a lot of fun! ❤️
